Why a Sensory Room?

Our Cause

Drew’s Room will be the only sensory center in the Lewis-Clark Valley as well as the surrounding communities. Typical indoor playgrounds can be very overwhelming, chaotic, and stressful for neurodivergent children. Drew’s Room will give children of all abilities access to different indoor rooms in one location that are sensory-driven, as well as calming, with specialized equipment and providing social interactions with others who are like them.

The combined population of children aged 5-12 in the Lewiston and Clarkston school districts is 3,229 per the 2024-2025 enrollment. Lewiston’s school district total enrollmentin 2024-2025 is 4,381. Of those, 14% have a developmental disability and receive special education services (Lewiston School District). This number has increased by 1% per year since 2022.
